The African diary # 2: Nungwi the fisherman's village15:55
On Zanzibar I went to the northernmost tip of the island. This is the place where west coast meets east coast. Nungwi is a fisherman's village was mostly known in the past as a dhow boatyard. It is a breath-taking place with its turquoise-colored sea, white-as-snow beaches and palm trees - just like one would imagine paradise. But you can still see fishermen building their boats and women collecting seaweed when the tide is low. I stayed in an amazing place directly in front of the sea with waves breaking right under my balcony! It was nice to wake up in the morning just by hearing the waves and seeing the sunrise flooding my room with light. This is what I call a piece of heaven on earth and it was not the only one on Zanzibar! More to come soon.
