A gift from My Style Hit

Yesterday I received a package from My Style Hit! It is my first gift that I got because of my blog! I'm really thrilled! They send out gifts to blogs that are part of their VIP blogger community and have reached a certain status. Each gift is hand-picked and personalized to each blog. So I got a n.a.i.s. t-shirt with "This is not fashion." printed all over it. I love it already and will definitely wear it! Furthermore I got a brush for my keyboard and some face care masks to stay pretty. But the best was the handwritten letter which is also pretty personal and not just a print out of a standardized letter. The color of the envelope also matches my blog colors! Really really n.a.i.s.!

Thank you beloved My Style Hit-team! You really made my day!

Between the lines

There were dark and light at Whitsunday with mostly shadow when it comes to the weather. But nevertheless I strolled around the Speicherstadt (storehouse-town) here in Hamburg. So I had to chose an all-weather styling that keeps me warm, protects me from the rain and looks a bit stylish as well.
I was wearing a navy trench-coat with my hooded Marni for H&M vest on top of my favorite Acne jeans and New Balance sneakers. Not that fancy though, but comfortable and n.a.i.s.!
As you can see I also found a glimpse of the sun, which made my Ray Ban glasses worth carrying with me. I hope you all had a great Whitsundays as well!

MTWTFSS Weekday AW13 Collection - Hyper Reality

The MTWTFSS Weekday AW 2013 collection is based on the theme of Hyper Reality - virtual reality aesthetics mixed with futuristic prints. The materials are synthetic, the garments are made of printed mesh and teddy. Bold cybertech prints produce a technological feeling with a nostalgic nod to the past.  This collection is again like a 90’s wet dream of how to dress for wild parties in a futuristic way. Padded silver jackets are worn over sleek white dresses. Futuristic trousers in dark grey and black are matched with electric blue sweatshirts and virtual reality prints.
According to Weekdays design team:
“With inspiration from transhumanism, cyber space and the sci-fi movie “The Lawnmower man” (1992) we explore digital media as a weapon of mass distraction. We invite you to immerse in our virtual reality."
We can identify some similarities to the SS13 collection and but with a more grown up aesthetics. The summer trends live on in the winter time. I was not a big fan of Weekdays summer collection but the AW collection is more my cup of tea and it is really n.a.i.s. Especially the Givenchy inspired sweaters and metallic pieces are great. I don't like all the tribal stuff, which are too cheap and chavvy for me.
But lets see what the winter brings or as Prodigy says:
“I’ll take your brain to another dimension, pay close attention.”

The Construction Side of Fashion

Fashion is a constant construction side, it is never finished nor complete. Same is true for style. It needs to be constantly updated, refined, dismissed, reinterpreted. It is in a constant flux. What's trendy today is outdated tomorrow, and on-again the day after tomorrow.
My outfit is a reminiscences to this and the location as well! I'm wearing a chino (which are supposed to be out this season), with an oversized shirt (bought 2 seasons ago), camel colored sandals (still love them), a tote bag (outer than out) and Givenchy sunglasses (so last season). Nevertheless the most important thing is, no matter what you are wearing, to look confident and to love yourself in your clothes!
